Holiday home on Greek island
The house lies 200 meters above sea level on the island of Tinos in the popular Cyclades, a 15-minute drive from the port of the island. It is situated on the outskirts of a tiny village with about 25 houses, one church �` and no less than three cafes. The house is built against a hill, with three stories and a total living area of 100 square meters.
On the ground floor, facing the village, is a room that could be converted into a bedroom, with shower and WC. To its side is a storage room which could hold for instance fuel wood, and another room suitable for bikes or even a couple of motorbikes.
At mid-level is a dining kitchen, a bedroom, and a smaller room that could be converted into a bathroom.
On the top level: a further bathroom/WC, a laundry room with wardrobe and washing machine, and a large studio that could be converted into a living room with a kitchenette. In front of the rooms on this floor a veranda stretches across the entire width of the house (facing south-west). It offers a nice view of the valley with its monastery, as well as a view to the second highest mountain on the island.
Due to the thick and solid stone walls the rooms stay cool even in strong heat.
The house is newly plastered on all sides and is well protected against the wind, which has a positive effect on maintenance.
There are plenty of opportunities for activities in the vicinity, such as courses in mountain climbing, or concerts at the monastery. Or surfing. You will find a much-visited surfing school on the north side of the island.
